Justin G. Sanders joined Mind Law Firm as an associate in 2008. Prior to that, Mr. Sanders worked as a Patent Agent, being registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office since 2006.
Born and raised in Orange County, California, Mr. Sanders graduated from California State University, Long Beach in 2005, earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a minor in Human Resources Management. During that time, he was a member of both the Dean’s List and President’s List, and became a lifetime member of Tau Beta Pi, the oldest engineering honor society in the United States. Mr. Sanders went on to attend Whittier Law School, where he received his Juris Doctorate with magna cum laude honors in 2008, along with a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law. Ranked eighth in his class and the recipient of a full-tuition scholarship, Mr. Sanders remained on the Dean’s List and Honor Roll during his entire time at Whittier, was a Fellow in the Center for Intellectual Property Law, participated as a member of both the Intellectual Property Law Society and the Entertainment and Sports Law Society, and served as a tutor and mentor to fellow classmates. Mr. Sanders continues to maintain an active role at his alma mater, mentoring current law students.
As a Patent Agent prior to being admitted to the California Bar, and now as a Patent Attorney, Mr. Sanders has drafted and prosecuted numerous utility and design patent applications, both U.S. and international, covering a wide range of technologies. Along with patent prosecution, he has extensive experience in performing patent searches and rendering patentability and infringement opinions. Since joining Mind Law Firm, Mr. Sanders has expanded his practice to include U.S. and international trademark prosecution, copyright registration, trade secret protection, and the negotiation and drafting of a multitude of intellectual property and related business agreements.
In addition to the USPTO, Mr. Sanders is admitted to practice in all courts of the State of California, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Mr. Sanders is currently a member of the American Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, the Orange County Patent Law Association, and Tau Beta Pi.
